Short answer: if anyone is hurt, call 000. If a tree is on or near live powerlines, stay at least 10 m clear and call Energex's 24/7 emergency line 13 19 62 (or 000). For a tree on a roof, driveway or fence with no powerline risk, request an urgent quote here — we pass it to a local arborist.

We do not run call-out crews and we do not advertise 24/7 attendance or guaranteed same-day service. The arborist who accepts the job confirms timing.

What should I do before the crew arrives?

  • Keep people and pets away from hung-up limbs and partially uprooted trees.
  • Photograph the damage from a safe distance (useful for insurance).
  • Do not cut trees touching powerlines yourself — Energex says stay at least 10 m away and report fallen or contacting lines on 13 19 62 or 000.
  • If the tree is on a neighbour's side or on the boundary, note that in your quote request.

How much does emergency tree work cost?

WhatsTheDamage's Brisbane table lists emergency / storm damage at about $500–$5,000 per job (Oct 2026), and crane-assisted removal of a tree on a structure higher again. After-hours work, traffic control and complex access increase the price. These are indicative Greater Brisbane ranges, not a Logan quote.

What photos and details speed up an urgent quote?

  • Wide shot of the tree and what it is on (roof, car, fence, driveway).
  • Close-ups of the break, root plate or hung-up limb.
  • Access notes: narrow side path, pool, powerlines, locked gates.
  • Suburb and preferred contact number.

Choose an urgent timeframe on the form. We still do not set the crew's arrival window.

Storm season in Logan

Bureau of Meteorology figures for Archerfield Airport (north of Logan) show February as the wettest month on average (155.3 mm) and annual rainfall of 1,061.6 mm, with the bulk of rain in the warmer months. That is when limb failures and windthrow peak. Preparing before storm season — pruning dead wood, checking large eucalypt forks — is covered in our storm season guide.

How it works with us

  1. Tell us about the job: suburb, emergency / storm, tree size, access and urgency. Photos help.
  2. We pass it to one independent local arborist or tree-service crew who services your area.
  3. If the job suits them, they inspect and quote — including whether Council or state approval is needed. The arborist who accepts the job confirms timing.
  4. You decide. The quote is free and any contract is directly with that business.

We pass requests to qualified local crews — any contract is between you and them. See our disclosure.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer 24/7 emergency tree removal?

No. We do not run a call-out crew and we do not advertise after-hours attendance. Urgent requests are passed to a local arborist who decides whether they can attend and when.

What Energex number do I call for trees on powerlines?

For fallen or damaged powerlines, Energex says call Triple Zero (000) or its 24/7 emergency line 13 19 62, stay at least 10 metres away, and wait for Energex to make the area safe. To report vegetation growing too close to the network (not an immediate hazard), Energex lists 13 12 53.

Will insurance cover storm tree damage?

That depends on your policy. Photograph the damage and call your insurer. The arborist's invoice and photos help; we cannot advise on cover.

Is Council approval needed in an emergency?

Safety work can be urgent, but protected vegetation rules may still require follow-up with Logan City Council. Ask the arborist and Council if a native tree in an overlay area was removed.

Can I choose stump grinding at the same time?

Yes — note stump grinding on the form. See also our stump grinding page for indicative prices.
